Writing is like reading a book for the first time.

Sure, you can outline ahead and know how the story goes, like reading the Coles Notes before the book.

Or, you can just sit down and write.  Outlining is more logical and will probably bring a tighter storyline on that first draft, but it lacks spontaneity.

Writing without knowing what happens next is just more fun.
