Surprising, Sad, Sincere

I’ll admit at first I was feeling slightly put off by the material wealth apparent in the characters – I can admit that. But like all of her stories, e. lockhart builds those characters into people I can identify with, with situations I can imagine, with pain I can feel. This book drew me in – I listened to the entire book in a couple of days – and at the end, spit me out. I don’t read all that many mysteries, but e. lockhart always comes across with an unexpected twist that is more than just the answer, it makes you want to go back and read it all again, find the clues and be amazed at how cleverly hidden they were.

p.s. I only just realized this morning that I listened to this entire book while suffering with a severe migraine.
